It’s JUNE! One of my very favorite months of the year and also Migraine and Headache Awareness Month (MHAM). I’ve been so looking forward to revealing this collaboration to you guys and am thrilled to finally be able to share it!
Presentingggg #drumrolllllll, the MM Migraine Awareness Month Ribbon! My hope is that this ribbon will help shed light and understanding on migraine as a neurobiological disease and #notjustaheadache
Here are some easy ways to help get involved and support Migraine and Headache Awareness efforts this month:
Repost this ribbon (click on image to download)! Share on your instagram, facebook or other social media and be sure use the hashtag #notjustaheadache.
Change your profile photo or add a frame to your current photo on Facebook by clicking here. From the link, search “migraine” for awareness frames created by migraine.com.
Participate in the Shades For Migraine World Solidarity Day (on June 21st). “Show you care and wear a pair” by wearing sunglasses all day on June 21st, the longest day of the year. Post a picture on social media with the hashtag #shadesformigraine and get creative (I can tell you that my dog will definitely be posting a pic with his shades on).
Keep your eyes on American Migraine Foundation social media, as all month long they will be posting shareable materials, advocacy tips and more!
Share your migraine experience through Migraine Ninja’s MHAM Blogging and Social Media Challenge. Tammy Rome and Teri Roberts have set daily “prompts” for anyone who wants to participate in raising awareness through social media. Every day this month, there will be a new blog post on Migraine Ninja that provides a statement about migraine and headache management. You can respond to this statement with your own experience, and are encouraged to tweet or post your reply to Facebook. You can participate as much or as little as you want, and it’s a great way to connect with and learn from other migraine fighters.
Last but not least, connect with other migraine warriors. Support accounts online that are helping to spread awareness and engage with people in this incredibly strong, supportive community.
Together, we can advocate for wider recognition of migraine as a legitimate condition, advocate for better treatment and spread hope. Happy MHAM!
I share each step along my road to wellness and healing and hope that in doing so I can inspire you along your own path. Thank you so much for being here.
