Hello and welcome, I am so happy that you’re here!
As many of you know, I began sharing my journey as @mindfulmigraine on Instagram in 2017.
That account has now grown into a new brand, blog, writing career, life passion and vibrant, engaged community of souls deeply committed to weathering life’s stormy seasons with mindfulness, resilience and radical self-love.
Today, I welcome you to my new name. The Mindful Natalie blog is all about a holistic approach to wellness and chronic illness. The endeavor to meet each day with as much acceptance as possible and walk the tightrope of surrender and hope — navigating the present moment with intention and love.
Four years ago, at 24, mindfulness cracked opened a door, shining a sliver of light in the dark, dismal hallway of debilitating chronic illness where I found myself isolated, discouraged, and afraid.
It was that small beam of hope, that opening, that led me from deep suffering to mindful awareness. It allowed me to begin the process expanding my understanding of what I was experiencing, reframe my reality in a way that was supportive and infuse my life with moments of gentleness, love and compassion.
I decided that as I was just beginning my 20’s, I wasn’t willing to let go of all of my dreams for the future simply because life had thrown me a (severe) health curveball. I was determined to find a way to integrate my journey with chronic illness into a lifestyle rooted in wellness and in alignment with my values and passions.
That transformative decision was the catalyst to sharing my healing journey. As I began to embrace my life and step into a more empowered version of myself than I’d ever known before, I found the confidence to share my story with others on social media.
What has occurred since then, has been one the most surprising and beautiful gifts of my existence. The ability to transform the pain I have experienced and, through mindful reflection, alchemize it into a mindset rooted in compassion and heartfelt words that can help others navigating similar circumstances has given me a deep sense of purpose.
It has now become my life’s work to share the skills and strategies I have learned from my journey of mindful healing in the hope that I can help others transform their reality just as mine has been changed.
It’s my deepest hope that in continuing to share my ongoing healing journey, others will come across tools that they can add to their own personal “recipe for well-being”.
